Liquid Life and the Search for Truth in the Light of “Dei Verbum”

The Polish sociologist Zygmunt Bauman coined the term “Liquid Modernity” to describe the fluidity of human relationships and the instability of institutions in contemporary society. This reality brings uncertainty, excessive personal responsibility, and the replacement of emotional bonds with consumerism. Biblical theology, especially the Catholic Church’s document Dei Verbum, offers a spiritual and critical response to this fragmentation. Promulgated in 1965 by Pope Paul VI, the text aims to centralize Sacred Scripture, ensure reliable interpretations, and make God’s Word accessible to all. The article is structured around three axes: analysis of liquid modernity, presentation of Dei Verbum, and practical actions to face current challenges through faith. The methodology is based on bibliographic review, seeking to strengthen understanding of divine revelation and offer meaning to modern life.
