Abstract

It is not new that women are fighting for a place of recognition in Theology and in the Church. This struggle becomes visible in the work made by several theologian women, especially biblical scholars, to make Feminist Biblical Theology known. In this list, Elisabeth Shüsler Fiorenza stands out, whose Critical Feminist Interpretation for Liberation gained prominence in the Academy. The document of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, The Interpretation of the Bible in the Church, among the biblical methods and methodologies, recognizes the feminist approach as possible and recommendable. Recognition more than welcome, but insufficient, according to the claims of biblists. In commemoration of the 30th year of that document, this paper revisits several works on the subject, especially Fiorenza's productions, and shows the recognition given by the document and the path so far. The aim is to present a little of the Feminist Biblical Theology history and make that method better known, giving voice and space to women in a field that is still so masculine, androcentric and patriarchal, the world of biblical studies.
